While Microsoft has had the Games with Gold program up and running for a considerable amount of time now, they have yet to roll out the availability on their new console, the Xbox One. Today, the announcement was made that coming June, that will change.
In June, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault will be the first games to be featured in the program on Xbox One. June marks the one year anniversary of the Games with Gold program for Microsoft. On the Xbox One, Games with Gold will require an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to utilize the service.
The Xbox 360 version of Games with Gold will feature an extra game thanking over 12 million users for participating in the program over the past year. On the 360, Dark Souls, Charlie Murder, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition are set to hit the program.
This marks three strong announcements from Microsoft including the Kinect-less system, and streaming apps no longer requiring an Xbox Live Gold membership. The Kinect is also going to be released as a standalone accessory.
