Report: Beyonce’s sister attacking Jay-Z had something to do with Rihanna

A question that a few million people have been asking themselves lately: why did Solange attack Jay-Z in an elevator while Beyonce watched. Well, if the latest rumors are true we have an answer to why that episode happened.

According to the New York Daily News, the main reason Solange attacked Jay-Z is because Jay reportedly wanted to go to Rihanna’s party without Beyonce:

"Beyonce’s sister went berzerk on Jay Z after the rapper insisted on going to Rihanna’s Met Gala after-party, the Daily News has learned.On the way out, Jay Z said he’d be heading to Up & Down on W. 14th Street, where Rihanna was holding her own post-Met Ball bash, a second source said.“She seemed drunk and irritated,” said a second source. “She said, ‘Why can’t you go home?’ and to Beyonce ‘Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?’An incensed Jay Z didn’t back down. “You’re one to talk,” he replied, the source said.via Solange Knowles, Jay Z fight sparked after rapper made plans to attend Rihanna’s Met Gala after-party without Beyonce: source | The New York Daily News"

At this point I don’t think anyone is shocked this entire thing includes Rihanna. Throughout all of the speculation that was raised on social networking sites on Twitter, Facebook, etc., there were several suggestions that Rihanna would be involved some way, some how.

The New York Daily News also answers why Solange and Jay-Z were angry at each other prior to stepping into the elevator as Solange wasted no time in launching an attack on the Grammy-nominated artist once the elevator doors closed. The publication states that Solange’s friends attempted to name-drop Jay’s name in order to get into a party. This angered him which then angered Solange, causing the two to trade words that created the entire debacle.

"But the fight that led to the Standard Hotel elevator explosion was set in motion 15 minutes earlier when a group of Solange Knowles’ non-famous friends showed up uninvited at the star-studded soiree, a source told The News.“Two of her friends, who were not dressed for the Met Ball, showed up at The Standard and caused a scene downstairs,” the source said.“They wouldn’t leave and kept name dropping Jay Z. They were pretending they were guests of his and not hers. Management went to Julius (Beyonce’s bodyguard) and said there’s a problem.”Our source said Jay Z soon got wind of it and snapped at Solange, saying “don’t use my name.”"

If any of this is true, it’s fair to say that Solange was in the wrong. Not only were her friends using Jay-Z’s fame for personal pleasure, but Solange involuntarily stepped between a family matter that had zero to do with herself and everything to do with Mr. and Mrs. Carter.

Despite the explanation above a few questions remain. Was Jay going solo to Rihanna’s party enough for Solange to respond as she did? If it involved her not having a problem with Jay going to the party on his own, why didn’t Beyonce step in and put Solange into her place?

So many questions and the ones that remain likely won’t get questioned, but this story increases in humor as what we all wanted to know was revealed. Well, if it’s true.
