The Washington Redskins drafted former Baylors Bears running back Lache Seastrunk in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is currently the Redskins’ starter, had a hand in that happening.

“[Griffin] was texting me during the draft, I was trying to ignore my phone,” Gruden said. “He is a big fan of Lache ,and they’re obviously good friends, and has good things to say about him.

Unfortunately for Seastrunk it is a bit of a crowded backfield with Roy Helu Jr and the starter Alfred Morris, but Gruden said everyone will get a chance to play.

“Everybody we drafted is going to have a great opportunity not only to compete but to play,” Gruden said.
