Teams preparing for the World Cup are narrowing their rosters down ahead of the tournament in Brazil. They have to name a provisional 30-man roster before cutting that number down to 23 the second day of June.
Think of the multiple cut deadlines in NFL training camps. Some teams have gone ahead and named 23-man rosters even though they didn’t have to quite yet, Italy was not one of them. Italy named a 30-man roster and will begin training in Florence on May 19.
