In just a few seasons, the Atlanta Braves will leave Turner Field, home to the franchise since 1997.
Most would have assumed that given the metropolitan area of Atlanta, the Braves would opt to build their new stadium in downtown but the franchise decided to build in Cobb County – well north of Turner Field’s current location.
That didn’t sit well with many Braves fans who’ll now have to travel from Atlanta-Fulton to Cobb County, though, the Braves themselves have stated that the vast majority of their fans already commute from Cobby County to Turner Field, so the move will only help but increase the Braves local popularity.
Set to open for the 2017 season, Cobb County Stadium will be filled with one-of-a-kind amenities such as the ‘John Rocker Roid Center’, ‘Chipper Jones Third Times a Charm Chapel’, a ‘Third Base Walmart Center’ and of course a built-in race track (because, why not).
My personal favorite however, is the Honey Boo Boo museum.
