Max Wittek: Top three landing spots for the former USC QB after Texas pulls offer

Late Wednesday evening it was reported via the Austin American-Statesman that former USC Trojans quarterback Max Wittek would in fact not be making his way to man the offense for the Texas Longhorns as has been widely assumed for quite some time now, as the school is now pulling the offer for reasons not known at this time.

Wittek is slated to graduate from USC very shortly and will be eligible to play immediately, which is what made Texas such a viable destination in the first place with projected starter David Ash’s injury concerns and the uncertainty surrounding sophomore Tyrone Swoopes.

But now, that won’t be happening and Wittek will have to re-open his recruitment, so to speak, and there are a lot of schools that we’re sure would be more than happy to have the former 4-star recruit out of the famed Mater Dei High School in California under center for their program come late August.

So now that head coach Charlie Strong and the Longhorns are out of the picture, presumably, who are some of the programs that could –or in some cases, should– have Wittek running the show for them this season?
