We have just two series left with remaining games in the Conference Semifinals and we could see both series end tonight. The Kings-Ducks and Bruins-Canadiens series both could produce winners tonight and that would lock up the Conference Finals schedule on both sides of the country.
But regardless of what happens out west, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has confirmed that the Eastern Conference Finals will drop the puck on Saturday afternoon. While the Ducks and Kings are in Game 6 of their series, it’s a do or die situation in the east between the Habs and Bruins.
Last night saw the New York Rangers punch through to the Conference Finals with a thrilling win over the Penguins and they now await the winner of the game tonight.
No matter who wins, it seems we’re in for one heck of a series as the Bruins and Rangers meeting is always a big deal and there is plenty of history between the Rangers and Habs as well. Regardless of the matchup we get though, the two remaining teams in the Eastern Conference will begin the final leg of the playoffs before the Stanley Cup on Saturday.
