Sara McMann suffered her first career defeat at UFC 170 when she lost in the main event to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. McMann has been out of action since that February bout, and she is ready to get back to work and return to the cage.
On Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com reported that McMann is looking for a fight with Sarah Kaufman.
McMann and Kaufman were initially scheduled to face off last August, but McMann withdrew from the fight for personal reasons and the bout was called off. McMann is now looking for that fight, but Kaufman has two other names on her radar and doesn’t seem to be thinking about McMann at this time.
Rather than fighting someone who is coming off of a loss, Kaufman would prefer to take on Miesha Tate or Cat Zingano.
It will be interesting to see what the UFC has in store for both women moving forward.
If either woman gets their wish, there will be some quality match ups added to the schedule in the women’s bantamweight division.
