Steve Kerr accepts Golden State Warriors head coaching job

The New York Knicks had put the full court press on former NBA player and current TNT analyst Steve Kerr in hopes of naming him their new head coach. Unfortunately for the Knicks, they have come up short and Kerr has decided to accept a different offer.

On Tuesday night, David Aldridge reported that Kerr has spurned the Knicks in favor of taking the head coaching job of the Golden State Warriors.

Kerr will now take over a team that has made the playoffs for the past two season and there seems to be much more upside with the coaching gig on the West Coast. The Warriors have better ownership, more talent, and the contract offer is reportedly more rewarding.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Kerr’s contract with the Warriors will be for five years and approximately $25 million.
