Xbox One changes in the rear view

With Microsoft making a massive splash prior to E3, where does the Xbox One stack up in comparison to the competition at this point?

Yesterday, Microsoft removed streaming services from needing Xbox Live, announced an Xbox One console without Kinect, revealed Kinect will still be sold separately and brought Games with Gold to Xbox One.  With all of these changes, Microsoft effectively made itself look like the cool kid at the party once again.

Although the point could be made the Microsoft stumbled out of the gate with the Xbox One, it seems as though Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox at Microsoft, and the Xbox team have a clear goal of once again winning this console generation.  While the Playstation 4 has seen overwhelming success early, a strong E3 showing from the must have titles on the Xbox One, alongside these new developments, could significantly propel the system and brand forward.

Now as both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles are offered at $399, the systems will be separated by the content they offer.  Though it is documented that many developers are leaning towards the processing power of the Playstation 4, Microsoft continues to boast of its lineup of upcoming titles, many exclusive titles included.

The question to ask gamers is; Has Microsoft done enough to get your dollars and bring you on board with their console?
