The quarterback positions hasn’t been the most stable for the Miami Hurricanes over the past few seasons, however head coach Al Golden is certainly trying to change that on the recruiting trail. To help with this, the ‘Canes and Golden got a big commitment on Thursday in the form of four-star pro-style sensation, Dwayne Lawson.

Lawson is a 6-5, 210-pound signal caller that can stand tall in the pocket, obviously, and has tremendous arm strength getting the ball downfield.
Committing to the Hurricanes may have taken some by surprise. According to 247 Sports, his top offers were from the Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers and Ohio State Buckeyes–with the UCF Knights coming up the rear, but slowly.
Lawson first received an official offer from Golden and staff back in early February.
He now becomes the 11th hard commitment in the 2015 class for Miami and the first quarterback on the board, as the program already has some stacked skilled position talent coming in, including highly touted running back Dexter Williams, who down the road could cause some serious havoc on ACC defenses with Lawson under center.
