Alabama sophomore running back Derrick Henry posted a picture to his Instagram account earlier this week of his new car, which of course set off alarms around the SEC that some booster or person affiliated with the Crimson Tide purchased the car for him.
That comes with the territory, because no chance that his parents couldn’t possibly buy the car for him right? Not with all the money they’re saving from having Alabama cover the cost of his tuition, right?
In any event, former West Virginia quarterback and second round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins and current Edmonton Eskimoes quarterback, Pat White, saw the photo of Henry next to his vehicle and posted on his own Facebook page alongside photos of Henry’s new ride, “Stop pretending like you didn’t know the crimson tide has been doing this for years. Still glad I turned down a Corvette to become a mountaineer.”
Of course there is this bit of information from Rivals that says White didn’t have an offer from Alabama.
Naturally, White must have gotten a better deal from West Virginia than the Corvette he allegedly turned down to jilt his in-state program to go to the powerhouse program that was West Virginia.
