NBA Playoffs 2013, Trail Blazers at Spurs final score: San Antonio wins 104-82, advances to Western Conference Finals

After losing game 4 to the Portland Trail Blazers 103-92 Monday night, the San Antonio Spurs had no problem closing out the Portland Trail Blazers in game 5 Wednesday night. The Spurs dominated the second half and defeated the Trail Blazers 104-82 to win their second round series 4-1 and advance to the Western Conference Finals for the third straight season.

Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green scored 22 points apiece while Patty Mills scored 18 and Tim Duncan had 16 points and eight rebounds.

LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Damian Lillard scored 17 points and dished out  10 assists.

After both teams struggled to score in the opening quarter, playing to a 19-19 tie, the Spurs exploded for 32 second quarter points to take a 51-44 lead into the break. As the second half opened, the Spurs scored the first eight points of the third quarter to push the lead to 15 and take complete control of the game.

The Spurs will take on the winner of the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder lead 3-2 and game 6 is in the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 10:30 pm EST Thursday night.
