The Brooklyn Nets lost to the Miami Heat, losing the series 4-1. For Paul Pierce it brings about potentially a new chapter in his career as he heads towards free agency this summer.

That means finding a new deal, whether with the Nets or a new team, but there is no doubt in Pierce’s mind that he still has the ability to play and that he can still contribute to a team looking to make a championship run.

It could be Kevin Garnett’s last game as well, and he didn’t speak to the media after the game. Garnett, unlike Pierce, has one-year left on his deal and could consider retiring instead of playing out his contract.

“Emotions are too fresh right now,” Pierce said after the game, via ESPN.
