We’re getting very close to crowning a national champion in Men’s College Lacrosse for the 2014 season as the quarterfinals are set to play out in the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament this weekend.
Last week 16 of the top teams in the country began to battle it out in the first round, and that first round was in no way short of any shockers.
Generally a powerhouse in this tournament, and the entire sport for that matter, the second-seeded Syracuse Orange were stunned in their opening contest by Bryant, 10-9, late in the game. While not the overall favorite coming in, there were many that believed the Orange had what it took to walk away with the trophy when the event was over, which they will not get a chance to now.
In one other upset, the third-seeded Loyola team was downed, 13-6, by Albany as they saw their national title hopes crumble in front of their very eyes.

This weekend, as you can see, one of the match ups that everyone is looking forward to is the showdown between the two traditional Lacrosse powers, Duke and Johns Hopkins.
