Nate Diaz wants to fight Matt Brown

Following his win at UFC Fight Night 40, Matt Brown said that he would be interested in a fight with Nick Diaz. Unfortunately, Diaz is retired, so Brown would need to look elsewhere as he looks to earn his eighth win in a row and work his way towards a shot at the welterweight title.

Brown may have a challenger, however, and he bares the Diaz last name.

On Friday, Nick Diaz’s brother, Nate, said that he would be open to returning to the cage for a bout against Brown.

I want the Matt Brown fight,” Diaz told Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting. “That’s what I’m looking for. I’m trying to fight the baddest motherf**kers out there. I’m not trying to fight some lame ass fighter that they’re trying to build off of me.

“My brother is retired. So if this guy wants to fight a Diaz, he’s got to fight me.”

Diaz has not fought since last November when he defeated Gray Maynard in the first-round.

Diaz has been dealing with a contract dispute, but he appears ready and willing to get back in the cage against a guy like Brown.

If the UFC is interested in the booking, it would be a very exciting fight for the mixed martial arts fans.
