The Minnesota Timberwolves need to find a new head coach and they need to find a way to keep Kevin Love from bolting to a new team the first chance he gets next summer. One easy way to make things better in the short term is to involve Love in future decisions as though he’s going to be a part of that future.
That’s exactly what the Timberwolves are doing as according to Charley Walters of the Star Tribune, the Wolves will be giving Love some sir tot say in who the next coach of the team is.
This is what Wolves fans want to hear, as even if Love is indeed leaving in the summer, at least fans are numbing the pain by hallucinating that he’ll be a part of the future. What’s more is that Love having a say in the future of the team may actually invest him in said future and make him want to stick around.
Love’s biggest sticking point with the Wolves has been his treatment by the front office, so pulling him in and making him a part of the team that finds the next head coach not only strokes his ego but could be a good team bonding experience.
