Just over a week week ago, the Gamecocks received a commitment from 4-star dual-threat quarterback Lorenzo Nunez. On Sunday, 3-star tight end Kyle Markway gave his pledge to the Tigers. Then, on Thursday, it was 4-star athlete Jalen Christian who committed to the Gamecocks.
The trend continued on Friday when 3-star center/defensive tackle Jozie Milton gave his pledge to the Gamecocks.
The 6’3, 294-pound Milton plays offensive tackle and defensive tackle for the Silliman Institute in Clinton, Louisiana, but projects as a center.
“They said they are only taking one center and I’m the top guy for that position,” Milton told GoGamecocks.com. “I like it there a lot. I’ve heard a lot about the fan base. And coach Spurrier, that’s huge. And if I play center, I may be able to last longer in the game.”
Milton is ranked as the country’s 43rd-best defensive tackle prospect, the 43rd-overall best overall prospect in the state of Louisiana and the 747th-best overall prospect, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Milton chose the Gamecocks over the Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks and Georgia Bulldogs, among others.
