The Kevin Love rumor mill is one that never takes time off. This time, according to the New York Post, the soon-to-be free agent big man wouldn’t mind playing for the New York Knicks.

Per the New York Post:

"Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks"

When debating where Love would end up for the 2014-15 season, the Knicks were a distant, but close option. The Los Angeles Lakers are number one on that list as a large group of people can’t help but think that regardless of what the Minnesota Timberwolves do, Love will end up in LA rather it be through a forced trade or free agency. Second on that list is his current team in Minnesota. With Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic along with what will be several improvements, there is a chance that the T’Wolves sniff the playoffs and convince Love this is the best place for him. And third was the Knicks.

Love’s inevitable free agency in 2015 coincides with the same offseason the Knicks clear up enough cap space to bring along another max contract player. The Love/Carmelo Anthony dynamic would be something of interest (if Melo decides to remain in New York) and it provides Love the opportunity to play on the biggest stage outside of Los Angeles which seems to be high on the hypothetical lists of interests that seems to surround the best power forward in basketball.

Regardless of where Love wants to end up, he’s a member of the Minneosta Timberwolves until the summer of 2015. If the T’Wolves don’t improve it’s a guarantee that he’s out, but there’s a long time between now and 2015. Anything could happen.
