NBA Rumors: Phil Jackson is already 'beaten down' as Knicks president

The New York Knicks swung and missed on Steve Kerr as their next head coach and as a result the team is now scrambling to save face and hire someone that will help make them look like they know what they’re doing. But while the Knicks are less than half a year into the Phil Jackson era, it appears he may have bitten off more than he could chew.

According to the New York Daily News, Jackson is already a ‘beaten down man’ following the misfire on Steve Kerr and this is before any of the real work has even begun.

Per Frank Isola:

In the embarrassing aftermath of the Steve Kerr fiasco, Phil Jackson was described by one league executive on Friday as “looking like a beaten man already.”

Finding a head coach is indeed hard work, let’s not be unfair to Jackson there, but he still needs to fill the roster with talent he can use in his schemes and more importantly needs to re-sign Carmelo Anthony. That’s a task that pales in comparison to the coaching search and if Jackson is already worn out, the road is only going to het rougher from here.
