Pittsburgh Penguins sign Josh Archibald

The Pittsburgh Penguins interim general manager, Jason Botterill, announced that the franchise has signed forward Josh Archibald to a three-year entry-level contract.

Archibald, 21, was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA’s top college hockey player. The honor was due to finishing third in nation with 29 goals while playing for Nebraska-Omaha.

Archibald was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and was a member of the NCHC All-Conference First Team.

After college hockey, Archibald played one season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, an American Hockey League team. He played in six games and scored one goal.
