The Miami Heat are trying to make it back to the NBA Finals for a fourth straight year but for the second consecutive season they’re going to have to go through the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals to get there. So far that task has been easier said than done as the sluggish Pacers have looked like everything but the gross team we saw limp through the first two rounds of the postseason.

David West knows all about the Heat and playing them in the postseason as he tasted defeat in 2013 and is leading the charge to make sure that doesn’t happen in 2014. He’s already started to who his dominance and exerted it on a brilliant and nasty jam in the first quarter of Game 1.

Let’s not read too far into this hot start by the Pacers as they haven’t even won the game yet, but it’s encouraging to see the team has fight and that means this series might not be the bore it looked like it might be heading into things.
