Just before tip-off on Sunday afternoon, it was announced that the Indiana Pacers would be without Evan Turner for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals series with the Miami Heat. Turner was dealing with strep throat, which forced him to take a seat on the bench.

However, Turner is not expected to be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

As far as Pacers head coach Frank Vogel is concerned, Turner should be back in the line up in time for Game 2.

“I do expect [Turner] to be back,” coach Frank Vogel said the team’s big win over the Heat in Game 1. “I mean, it’s strep throat. Hopefully he’s back by Tuesday.”

The Pacers were able to get a win in Game 1 without Turner in the line up, so they should be able eager to see what the team is able to do when he is back on the court.
