One of the more bizarre stories to pop up last week involved the release of a security tape that saw Solange Knowles attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator. The reasons for the fight are unknown and for the most part the incident had simmered down to the point where people were forgetting about it but the folks at SNL remembered and kicked off Saturday’s season finale with a sketch the roasted the whole incident.

With Jay Pharoah playing Jay Z, Sasheer Zamata playing Solange and Keenan Thompson as the hilarious body guard keeping them apart, SNL dug right into the weirdest event we saw unfold last week.

Check out the hilarious video from Saturday Night Live below:

Jay Pharoah’s spot-on impression of Jay Z is one of the more enjoyable things we saw on a night that was actually one of the best episodes of the season. Keenan Thompson was also great, as usual, and helped set the tone for the sketch but also remind us of how silly this whole situation really is.

At the end of the day, we rely on SNL to skew bizarre pop culture events like this and they did so in the most brilliant and hilarious way.
