The Indiana Pacers are trying to exorcise their playoff demons and beat the Miami Heat in a fashion that would prove to ll the naysayers that they’re indeed a legitimate playoff team. So far, the Pacers have hung a lot closer to the Heat than we thought they would and that has a lot to do with their roster of talent really stepping it up in a big spot.
Luis Scola is a perfect example of that, as he’s not recognized as one of the starts on the Pacers roster but he has been there in Game 1 when his team needed him to be. Case in point being a fast break dunk in which he snuck behind Chris Bosh to take a pass and throw it down.
Indiana isn’t favored to win the series and we shouldn’t read into their strong start to a game they haven’t even won yet. But it’s still encouraging to see them trying this hard as they’re putting up more of a fight than we thought they would be able to given what we had seen out of them this far.
