NFL trade rumors: Teams contacting Detroit Lions about Ndamukong Suh

On the same day that the Detroit Lions said they expect to see star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh report to team OTAs on Tuesday, the plot thickens. According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, there is some increasing chatter that there are teams around the league that are contacting the Lions about a potential trade for Suh.

It would certainly be interesting to see the Lions move Suh during the offseason, but you can never count anything out in the NFL.

Detroit will just have to determine whether or not the return would be worth getting rid of one of the top defensive linemen in the league today.

Do you think the Lions should trade Suh? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts.

The Lions defense would suck without him. Having Suh is the equivalent of having Shaquille O’Neal

that makes sense .. suh scores points like shaq too huh .. dt isnt the postition that wins a superbowl .. if the trade is good enough , detroit should make it ..

Basketball players play both ways genius.

        • Cory Avid Whale-watcher Finnie

players play both ways in basketball but not football , yet you compare suh to shaq lmao .. nice try genius

Are you an idiot? Stop putting words in my mouth. Grow up.

read your first post .. are you an idiot ?? you compared suh , a defensive tackle that dont score points for a team to shaq , a athlete of a whole different sport lmao .. make sure you check on whos the idiot .. we are both lions fans so lets hope the best and suh showed up to the OTA’s so GO DETROIT

I didn’t compare him to a basketball player that scored points I compared him to an elite superstar. Ndamukong Suh commands the same amount of respect from opposing teams as Shaquille O’Neal. Right? Correct? Exactly. The word I used was ‘equivalent’ and it means equal in value. So, if we can end this discussion now that would be great.

suh might get moved lions still have fairly and Cory. Williams plus more depth dont rule it out

          • Chris Wyman

Cory Williams is no longer with the team. They aren’t moving Suh and Fairley.

Per The Lions owner and GM they are in Win Now Mode. Do you think trading away your best defensive player for Future Picks will help them win now? I think not. Suh isn’t going anywhere.

        • Cory Avid Whale-watcher Finnie

i understand what you saying and yes detroit is in win now mode but if suh is gonna be stubborn and not show up to practice and cause more trouble then good , then why not listen to some offers .. id love to keep suh in detroit , he’s a monster but if the trade offer is too good to pass up then id take it .. suh doesnt seem like he wants to be in detroit

First off you are talking about Volunteer Practice. Suh has never been to Volunteer Practice and I think he has done pretty well the last few years. Second It takes a long time to put together a contract that is going to pay a player the highest amount at his position. For Example Staffords contract last year didn’t get finalized until the beginning of July. Third you can Franchise Suh next year if you need to and if someone offers a contract you can match it or you get their next 2 first rounders. Sorry but nobody is offering 2 first rounders for suh right now. Then you still could possible trade him next year. and Fourth Suh is at OTA’s today. Too Bad He Doesn’t want to play for the Lions.

It would be great to get something out of him if in fact he doesnt want to be here. Franchise tag does work for next year but the cost is over 25 million. His contract has already hurt the Lions this year, 25 million next year would cripple them.
