Phoenix Suns may target Marcus Smart or Dante Exum in draft

The Phoenix Suns seem to have their point guard situation figured out but there is still al to of mystery surrounding what they plan on doing in the draft this year. While they don’t need a point guard, many believe that they could end up taking one since they have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to first-round draft picks.

Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic notes that both Marcus Smart and Dante Exum are two players that intrigue the Suns and both are players they’ve spent unusual amounts of time with for a team with two solid point guards on roster. But as Coro points out, Goran Dragic can opt out and cash in on the free agent market in 2015 and Eric Bledsoe is a restricted free agent this summer and may get signed to an offer sheet that Suns aren’t comfortable with matching.

Both Smart and Exum figure to be gone by the time the Suns go on the cock at No. 14 overall but they have three other draft picks to go point guard with and it appears that they may end up doing that even if they do’t land one of their top targets.
