The New England Revolution are building steam as the hottest team in the MLS Eastern Conference. However, two MLS Western Conference giants in Real Salt Lake and the Seattle Sounders are right on their tail with big wins of their own. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Galaxy find themselves in an unfamiliar position: the cellar.

Movers, shakers, and a lot of other stuff. They’re all here in this week’s MLS Power Rankings. Let’s take a look.

1. New England Revolution

In a wild shootout at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., goals from A.J. Soares (13′), Diego Fagundez (26′), Lee Nguyen (49′), Chris Tierney (57′) and Patrick Mullins (67′) paced Jay Heaps’s New England Revolution to a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Union. New England continue their season on May 24 against D.C. United at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE.
