Suspended infielder Miguel Tejada has officially signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins.
Originally pending a physical, the announcement was made clear on Monday.
Tejada is in the midst of serving a 105 game suspension for the use of amphetamines; apparently testing positive for four different types.
The six-time MLB allstar will soon report to the club’s spring training.
“I’m in great shape, I’ve been training every day for months,” Tejada said. “I feel that I can still help a team. I will work hard to achieve game shape, and then to earn a promotion to the big club.”
The MLB is currently planning to allow Tejada to join Miami on May 31.
