Notre Dame to sell turf from football stadium for $150

Notre Dame announced they were going to install FieldTurf in Notre Dame Stadium after having problems with the natural grass surface in recent years and with the grass set to be removed on Tuesday the school has found a way to monetize this by selling sections of the turf for $150.

According to the Associated Press, you can purchase a 2-foot-by-5-foot sections of turf from Notre Dame Stadium for $149.95, which includes two-day shipping and a certificate of authenticity. The school says the turf will be removed from the stadium Tuesday and shipped Wednesday.

I think the price is a bit of a bargain as I firmly believe there are die-hard fans of the Fighting Irish who would pay much more for a piece of the grass from teh historic stadium.

This would make for a lovely addition to man caves all across the Midwest where Notre Dame fans are all over the place. With Father’s Day coming up next month this would make for a truly memorable and unique gift for the Notre Dame dad in your life.

Just imagine you could own the same grass that Tommy Rees and others played on for the low, low price of $149.95.

I once bought four old stadium seats from Soldier Field and would love to purchase some old chairs from Wrigley Field when that stadium is ever renovated or rebuilt.

What piece of memorabilia would you love to purchase from any stadium and how much would you be willing to pay for your piece?
