The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim activated veteran third baseman and former World Series MVP David Freese from the 15-day disabled list today according to Alden Gonzalez on Twitter.

He’s returning from a tiny fracture in his right middle finger which can’t feel very good. Freese launched a couple home runs during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake – his most recent was a towering fly ball to right field that had the play-by-play team excited for his return to the big league club. The 31 year old will return to a .202/.266/.286 batting line.
With Freese back, the Angels sent infielder Luis Jimenez back to Salt Lake once again. I figured he would be the one who would get sent down since he’s currently batting just .160 in nine games with the Halos this season. But if anything were to happen to Freese which would result in him making another stint on the disabled list – then Jimenez will be brought back up.
