The Cleveland Cavaliers have been looking for someone to replace head coach Mike Brown after he was fired for a second time in four years. This time around, the team would prefer to find a head coach who will stick around a little longer than that and this had them looking for a big name with a big plan.

That man may end up being former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins. According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Cavaliers and Hollins may be showing a mutual interest in one another and that could lead to a hiring in the near future.

Per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer:

"There is mutual interest between former Memphis coach Lionel Hollins and the Cavaliers, an NBA source said on Monday, but no interview has been scheduled as the Cavs’ search for a head coach to replace Mike Brown entered its second week."

It’s going to be a big week for the Cavaliers, as the NBA Draft Lottery is tonight and they have a chance at moving up from the bottom of the top-10 all the way up to the to-3 and possibly the No. 1 pick. They’ve defied the odds in the past by winning the No. 1 pick, but even if they don’t get it this year they’ll still have a primo pick in the top-10 and that could help complete a deal with Hollins.

A few teams in the lottery are waiting to hire head coaches until after they find out how the ping pong ball bounces and the Cavaliers seem to be no exception. Still, it seems that if there is mutual interest between the Cavs and Hollins then it shouldn’t take a long time to secure a deal as he’s one of the best remaining options on ht market and the Cavs would be lucky to get him.
