According to Jon Morosi on Twitter, Dodgers prospect Alexander Guerrero’s ear was bitten during an altercation with fellow teammate/catcher Miguel Olivo. Just when we thought we heard it all – something like this ends up happening.
Part of Alex Guerrero’s ear was “displaced by a bite” during altercation with Miguel Olivo, according to Guerrero’s agent, Scott Boras.

That’s right, veteran catcher Olivo channeled his inner ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson and turned Guerrero’s ear into a chew toy. Right now there’s no word on what caused the two to get into it, but it had to be something serious. I mean, why else would you want to bite off a piece of someone’s ear? All we should expect is Olivo to be either suspended or disciplined in some shape or form by the organization.
There’s absolutely no room for something like this in professional sports – handle or take this somewhere else. The team is currently looking into what happened as the young outfielder is undergoing plastic surgery on his ear.
No word on how long he’ll be out. What a story this will be for both players’ grandkids.
