The Miami Dolphins have made a number of moves at the top of the organization over the past few months, and they recently made another. According to the Miami Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins have promoted assistant director of college scouting Joe Schoen.
Schoen, who was in his first year as assistant director of college scouting in 2013, will now be serving as the team’s director of player personnel.
“Joe is a talented evaluator with knowledge and experience in various roles, his diverse skillset and leadership makes him a great fit for his new role going forward,” said Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey.
“Over the past few months I have worked closely with Joe and have seen firsthand the value he brings to the organization. We will continue to make every effort to improve all aspects of the Miami Dolphins and with the recent addition of Eric Stokes and the promotion of Joe Schoen we feel that we are continuing on the path of our goal to return championship football to the Miami Dolphins.”
Prior to being promoted to the role he served in a year ago, Schoen was one of the team’s national scouts.
Before joining the Dolphins back in 2008, he spent seven years with the Carolina Panthers.
