The future of one of the most anticipated sporting events yearly, the NFL Draft, is up in the air. In particular, the location of the event in the future could be changing. Rumors of a move began to swirl right before this year’s event which took place last weekend, and now the NFL has gone one step further in eventually moving the draft as the owners have assembled a committee to do some research.

This news was confirmed by commissioner Roger Goodell just a short time ago as he took the podium at the spring league meetings.

As for potential sites for the draft, should they choose to take it on the road, major cities such as Chicago and Dallas have expressed their interest in bringing it to their area.

What’s also on the table is extending the draft to four days. With the recent success, ratings wise, since the move to the three-day format a few years ago, preliminary talks have begun about giving the draft an extra day. The success of this year’s draft was phenomenal, although it was expected to be with names like Jadeveon Clowney and Johnny Manziel involved.
