Denard Span dodges Ian Desmond Gatorade bath after 5-for-5 day (Video)

Ian Desmond had something special in mind for teammate Denard Span after Span’s epic 5-for-5 day at the plate for the Nationals Tuesday: a Gatorade bath. Span however wanted nothing to do with being doused by his teammate, and made every effort possible to avoid getting hit with the no-doubt freezing liquid.

I can’t blame Denard Span for trying to get out of the way of Desmond’s water attack. Nothing is grosser than getting blasted in the face with a bunch of freezing cold liquid when you’re not expecting it. Even when you are expecting it, getting drenched like that is kind of unpleasant.

Ian Desmond, next time restrict yourself to the old fashioned pie-in-the-face routine. Gatorade bath. Geez, I didn’t know anyone even did that in baseball. I thought that was only a football thing.

I guess now sports are sharing prank celebrations. So football players now will be smashing each other in the face with shaving cream pies. Oh I can’t wait. It’s going to be so much fun. I just love hilarious post-game pranks. They never get old.
