Game of Thrones season 5: Filming could take place in Spain

There are just three episodes remaining in season four of Game of Thrones, which means before we know it we will all be wondering when the HBO hit series returns to the air. While we will have to wait until early next spring for season 5 to premiere, we will be getting some teasers and information as the summer goes on.

We have previously learned that Game of Thrones season 5 will begin filming in Northern Ireland this August, and now it appears that filming could make its way to Spain. It would be the seventh country that the Game of Thrones set and production crew traveled to.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, “the HBO fantasy hit is currently scouting locations in the Andalucia region of the country and is deep in talks with a local film commission.”

Previous locations have also included Croatia, Iceland, Morocco, Malta and a few others.

There is no exact word on what part of Westeros the filming in Spain would be used to represent, but we will find out in a matter of time as the information on the upcoming season continues to be released.
