Wednesday night in Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder were literally taken to the woodshed by the San Antonio Spurs, dropping them to 0-2 in the series as they head back to Oklahoma City. When is was all said and done, the scoreboard read 112-77, and if anything has been clearly evident throughout these first two games it’s the fact that the Thunder desperately need Serge Ibaka.

After the blowout, though, despite all of the negative thoughts thrust the way of the Thunder, Ibaka tweeted that he still has faith in this team to pull out the miracle from down 0-2, much like they did back in 2012.

I mean, yes, of course you’re going to expect Ibaka to have that sort of faith in the men that he has taken the court with all season, but it’s painfully obvious how much his presence means to this team on the court, and the first two games of this series let that fact shine through, and brightly.

With the Thunder having just 42 points in the paint to the Spurs’ 54, that’s as far as you have to look for justification. Oh, and that’s not even mentioning the impact on the defensive end of the court that’s missing with Ibaka gone.

But, for Ibaka and all Thunder fans around the world, all they really do have at this point with their backs to the walls is faith.
