Survivor: Cagayan, the 28th season of the long-running CBS reality show competition, started off with three tribes — brains, beauty and brawn. On Wednesday night, we entered the two-hour finale down to just four castaways as Spencer Bledsoe, Woo Hwang, Kass McQuillen and Tony Vlachos competed for the title of sole survivor.
In the final four, there were two representatives of the brain tribe and two from the brawn, proving that you need more than beauty to survive out on the island.
Spencer was the long shot among the finalists and he has kept his dreams of winning the million dollar prize alive by continuing to win the immunity idol.
Opposite Spencer are Tony, Woo and Kass, who have been together since the merge — even if their alliance was a bit wishy-washy throughout the past few weeks. After last week’s vote, trust could be at an all-time low so it was going to be interesting to see how everything was going to shake out.
Kass pulled off an epic comeback to win the final individual immunity challenge which guaranteed her spot in the final three and guaranteed that either Spencer, Tony or Woo would be heading home just short of the final Tribal Council.
In the first Tribal Council, Spencer’s incredible run finally came up short and he was the 14th person booted from the game.
Jeff Probst then revealed that this year will feature a final two, not a final three.
In the final individual immunity competition of the season, Woo beat out Kass by a matter of seconds to guarantee his spot in the final two where he will have a shot at $1 million. He would be forced to choose between Tony and Kass.
When Jeff Probst read Woo’s vote, it was Tony who he chose to join him in front of the jury for the final two.
After meeting with the jury, the final votes were tallied and the winner of Survivor: Cagayan was revealed.
