The UFC on FOX 12 card just keeps on getting better and better. According to a report by Fox Sports, lightweights Daron Cruickshank and Jorge Masvidal have verbally agreed to a fight in San Jose on July 26th.
If you have not watched either of these two men fight, get on UFC Fight Pass immediately and watch them throw down. Now that you know the level of action these two men put forth during their fights, you can see why this will become such a hyped fight prior to July.
Both men are coming off impressive victories recently. Masvidal bounced back from his first loss in two years to defeat the ever game Pat Healy at UFC on FOX 11 in April. It was a hard nosed and grinding fight, but Masvidal was able to take home the unanimous decision victory.
Daron Cruickshank has been lighting up his opponents and the highlight reel in his recent performances. After a sensational wheel kick TKO victory over Mike Rio in January, Cruickshank took on his stiffest test to date in Erik Koch just two weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 40.
In the end, Cruickshank reigned victorious as he knocked out Koch with yet another highlight reel head kick. It was easily the most impressive performance of the former TUF competitor’s career, and it seems that the sky’s the limit for Daron.
As of now there is no word as to the placement of this fight on the card, but one would have to guess that it will either open up the FOX card, or be set as the main event of the prelims.
