The Los Angeles Dodgers have released catcher Miguel Olivo. Olivo, who is currently playing the minor leagues after A.J. Ellis returned from injury was involved in a brawl with Cuban second baseman, Alexander Guerrero, earlier in the week.

It was reported after the brawl, that Olivo had bitten Guerrero’s ear. The Dodgers had suspended Olivo after the incident, but he has now become a free agent upon his releasing.

He played eight games in the big leagues this season, and hit .217 whilst driving in only two runs and hitting no home runs.

With such poor statistics, and having been involved in such a shocking incident, it may be hard for Olivo to find a new home.

However, the only positive forOlivo; he had been hitting .368 with four home runs and 20 runs batted in for Triple-A-Class-Albuquerque.
