Needing to get their team back to full health, the Mariners are about to send two of their injured players off to Triple-A for rehab.

Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that James Paxton and Logan Morrison will be with Seattle’s Triple-A team in Tacoma starting this weekend as they rehab from their respective injuries. Paxton has been out since just after the start of the season with a strained back muscle and Morrison suffered a strain hamstring not long after that.

The lefty Paxton, who had only allowed three runs in the two starts he made before injury, will throw one more bullpen session in Seattle under the watch of the pitching and bullpen coaches. Barring any setbacks, he’ll pitch for Tacoma on Sunday. He reported no lingering soreness following a simulated-game session on Tuesday.

Morrison is performing running drills and could be with Triple-A as early as Friday. Morrison’s other problem is needing to get the timing back in his swing. He said he still has a little ways to go after facing both Paxton and also-injured starter Taijuan Walker in the simulated game on Tuesday.

Walker is about a week behind his teammates in the rehab process. He has been out since Spring Training with shoulder soreness. He may join the Rainers at the end of next week, pending no setbacks in another simulated game.
