Evgeni Plushenko resumes training following back surgery

Evgeni Plushenko is one of the greatest male figure skaters to ever take the ice, but his run at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia came to a disappointing end when his back issues once again got the best of him.

Following the Olympics, Plushenko underwent back surgery in an attempt to clear up any issues and now he is already back on the ice.

The back surgery took place in March and Plushenko’s goal is to get back to a point where he will be able to skate in some commercial shows, according to the Associated Press.

As for whether or not Plushenko will ever be returning to competition, his agent, Ari Zakarian, did not rule that out.

We’ll see how it goes,” Zakarian said.

We will also have to wait and see just how long it will be before Plushenko returns to the ice for a full routine whether it be a commercial show or competition.

In the meantime, we will all just need to be happy that Plushenko has returned to the ice for training.
