Man travels enormous distance to make grand proposal

What’s the farthest distance you’ve ever traveled to reach a place that means the world to you?

There’s a good chance you fell short of the distance traveled by a specific guy. The person that I’m talking about is Jack Hyer, as he traveled an astonishing 100,000 miles to film a proposal video.

The miles part is impressive, but also is the amount of countries he went through, which was over 28. That’s a long way just to film a proposal.

Hyer introduces the video by giving some history of his relationship with Rebecca Strellnauer. He claims he knew she was the one he wanted to marry – or so he wrote in his travel journal four years ago, on September 30, 2010.

It was over the past four years that he traveled to different places like, Greece, Tanzania, China, Thailand and Vietnam. He also filmed short clips of himself lip-syncing the song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the Proclaimers.

Now at their graduation from the University of Montana, Hyer shows her the video – while proposing to her using a great line:

“I’ve been on many adventures … but the best adventure I’ve ever had is loving Becca.”

She said yes, and the couple will be married in Montana later this summer. This guy obviously was in love with this woman, or he wouldn’t have traveled that long of a distance.

I want to wish him a happy marriage. Also you have to wonder, where the happy couple will spend their honeymoon.
