Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau has had his maned linked to numerous job openings throughout the league as of late. There were rumors that the Memphis Grizzlies are interested in trading for him or that he could team up with Carmelo Anthony with the Los Angeles Lakers.

More from Chicago Bulls

NBA insider Ric Bucher has something different to report on the subject, he says he is hearing from sources that Thibodeau is only interested in the New York Knicks job, something a source called his “dream job.”

“The relationship between Tom Thibodeau and the Chicago Bulls front office has not been great as of late. And his name has floated out there as far as other teams with head coach openings and their interest,” Bucher said, via Bleacher Report. “But that said, I’m told there is only one place that Thibodeau would push to go elsewhere and that’s to go back to the New York Knicks.

“That, I’m told by one source, is actually his dream job, to go back and get the Knicks back on the map. But short of that, no matter where he goes the grass is not always greener.”

Bucher goes on to talk about the pieces Thibodeau has in Chicago, and that there aren’t many better situations to leave for citing a quality team with former MVP Derrick Rose returning and hopefully staying healthy next season, something he has struggled to do. Bucher also said there is no guarantee in regards to what pieces he would have to work with in New York should he take the job.

Thibodeau of course worked as an assistant with the Knicks for roughly seven years in the late 90s and early 00s.
