It’s not often in sports that animals and live sports action come into mix with one another but when they do it’s usually not a good thing. If that those squirrels that run around baseball fields say any of the videos of what happens to birds who try to do the same thing, they might stay away.
Turns out golf courses are not safe for flight either unless you’re a golf ball as we had some ball on bird violence today at the Colonial. Jimmy Walker thought that his tee shot was going to get his next hole off to a great start, but one lone bird was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
You can check out the video here, but if you have a pet bird you may wanna throw a blanket over the cage or something.
I’m no golfing expert, but I don’t think that’s the type birdie you want to get.
There have been other classic examples of birds being in the wrong place during sporting events, like the infamous bird that literally exploded when it was struck mid-flight by a Randy Johnson fastball.
This may not be as flamboyant as that was, but Walker still managed to bullseye a moving target that was flying through the air in a sport where some golfers can’t even hit the fairway without first finding their way into the woods.
