It hasn’t taken long for Stan Van Gundy to establish himself as the voice of the Detroit Pistons. On Friday, after Cleveland Cavaliers’ owner commented on the Pistons being the only NBA team not playing within the city limits of the city they represent, Van Gundy reacted to the comments on 105.1 FM in Detroit, according to The Detroit News.

"“Dan Gilbert has some selfish interests for saying what he said,” Van Gundy said. “I think we know what those are. Finally I think he has enough to worry about with his own team than worrying about us.”"

Dan Gilbert, a native of Detroit, has a number of investments in Downtown Detroit that may have fueled his reasoning to the comments.

It has even been said that Gilbert has discusses bringing the Pistons back to downtown Detroit. The Palace of Auburn Hills has been the home of the Detroit Pistons since 1988 and the team has won three championships in their time at The Palace.

The arena can be found about 30 miles north of Detroit.

Whether a move is in the card for the Pistons in the future remains to be seen, but the team has plenty more to worry about as the Van Gundy era begins.
