Aaron Hernandez will face arraignment on Wednesday for charges of a Boston double-murder in 2012. These charges were the second and third murder charges against Hernandez.

More from NFL

Hernandez was released by the Patriots shortly after being charged in 2013 for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Hernandez was then denied bail, and has been waiting in confinement ever since as his attorneys scramble for the former NFL player’s freedom.

As Mike Florio of PFT notes, no court date has been set for either of Hernandez’s murder cases, but we’ll at least get one step closer in this second case very soon.

Hernandez will face charges for gunning down Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a July 2012 shooting that also wounded a third unnamed individual.

Hernandez has spent nearly a year in jail now after being charged with Lloyd’s murder.

While he and his attorneys fought for his due process and innocence, the recent allegations of yet another murder seem to have buried not only the credibility of Aaron Hernandez in court, but any dim hope the man may have had of returning to the NFL, barring a string of ‘not guilty’ verdicts.

Such a prospect seems less and less likely as more details surface about the life and times of the troubled Aaron Hernandez.
