The Dallas Cowboys struggled through injuries last season, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Before the 2014 season even begins, before training camp even opens for that matter, the Cowboys might have lost their best defensive player in middle linebacker Sean Lee.

“Sean has had to deal with injuries throughout college and also here in the NFL,” Garrett said earlier Tuesday, via ESPN Dallas. “He really does everything he can to get himself ready to play. Unfortunately, he had to deal with a few of those things, but he’s as mentally tough as an individual I’ve ever been around. Whatever the circumstances are, he always puts his best foot forward and strives to be his best. I don’t anticipate this being any different.”

The injury occurred on a play when rookie offensive lineman Zack Martin was blocking him on a screen pass. It apparently looked like Lee slipped and he needed help getting off the field.

The Cowboys are fearful Lee suffered a torn ACL, and it would be incredibly rough for Lee who has missed a considerable amount of time in the past two season due to injuries. The Cowboys won’t know the full extent of the injury until tomorrow morning.

You can bet there are  a lot of prayers going out in Valley Ranch and North Texas.
