The Miami Dolphins are looking towards the 2014 season and a fresh start, leaving behind the bullying scandal that rocked the league, the team and specifically the offensive line. The lone remaining piece of that bullying scandal is NFL center Mike Pouncey. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the players involved would have to undergo a mental health evaluation back in March at the NFL annual meeting.

“Our focus right now, at least in the case of the three players, is that they would be evaluated,” Goodell said, via NFL.com. “We’ve talked with the union several times about that. And we agreed that was the right first step.

“Once they’ve been evaluated, the medical professionals, which are joint medical professionals, will make determinations of whether any treatment is necessary,” Goodell added. “And it will be a requirement that they fulfill that.”

After the first day of OTAs for the Dolphins, Pouncey was asked about the evaluation and seems incredibly disinterested, almost like an alcoholic saying they don’t need a 12-step program.

“I have no clue, but I don’t think I need that,” Pouncey said, according to The Miami Herald. “I don’t think I do.”

If he doesn’t think he needs that it shouldn’t be any issue to undergo it and be cleared. If anything it is just a waste of a couple hours.

“Depending on what the doctors prescribe for that, that could prevent them from being around football for some period of time,” Goodell said, via The Palm Beach Post. “But that’s a medical decision.”

Of course Pouncey’s actions and comments suggest he might need treatment. For instance, when asked if he had any regrets regarding the events of last season he said: “No, not at all.”

After the Dolphins drafted an offensive lineman in 2014, you know to replace the bullies and ones ran off the team by those bullies, Pouncey was back at it getting ready to haze his new teammate.

He might be saying he doesn’t need it and putting off the test because he is afraid of the outcome of those tests.
